Chaotic Change
Resistance to change seems unapologetically natural, our patterns and routines can define our actions, even beyond our conscious realization. This is especially true for those of us that rely on routines to help cope with our very active brains and the other issues, such as anxiety or depression, that plague us.
At times even a simple change can make it feel as if the world is spinning around. No longer having the steady ground in which to strengthen my hold on actuality, I drift into the what if’s of worry and regret. Often manifesting into my relationships and decision making, it can become a larger issue before I am aware.
On this particular night, we took a break from all the chaotic changes; packing, job changes, trying to find a place to live. We found ourselves celebrating our sons birthday in a place we all love.
When I took this shot I almost deleted it. It was an example of my impatient mind forgetting the shutter was open still during a long exposure, rotating the camera from horizontal to vertical, to find a different composition. But when I saw the image, it reminded me of why I was there, to find some peace and calm in nature. I think it’s a good example of a look inside my head, when things are spinning around.
