A Twain Harte Christmas

Tonight I went to enjoy the festivities at the annual Twain Harte Christmas parade.  This is one of my favorite events of the season here in Tuolumne County. It seems everyone is out with friendly smiles and greetings of the season, almost as if i knew everyone. You see in this little town, around this time of year, we all long to feel like kids again.  In the few minutes we get to spend out here socializing with one another, listening to all of the children woot and holler each time a fire engine sounds the siren, we are brought back to the magic of Christmas.

I stopped by the Sportsman to grab a hot cocoa, with marshmallows of course, then headed outside to hear Jazz at 8 sing carols in front of El Jardin.  I love how all the businesses come together to have a little fun and celebrate. Shortly after this the tree was lit and the parade began to roll slowly under the famous Twain Harte arch.

Some of my favorite entries in the parade were a gliding sailboat, an old firetruck, my sons band (The Orange Crush), and of course Santa! Good times were had by all in this beautiful mountain town.

I hope these images get you in the holiday spirit, as the parade did me.

Happy Holidays!
